The Whiskey Fish Company was born from a lifelong pursuit of the flawless moment. 

The perfect cast. 

The perfect strike. 

The perfect setting. 

That split second when preparation meets opportunity — and every lesson from every prior encounter must be called upon to land the prize. A prize that feels just as remarkable each time as it did the first. 

Fishing is more than a sport. It’s tradition. It’s patience. It’s the company that gathers in pursuit of something bigger than the catch itself. Those shared, fleeting moments — never forgotten — are medicine for the soul. 

It was only a matter of time before that obsession merged with another American ritual: whiskey. 

The Moment That Started It All 

Distilled first in the old world then refined and perfected in Kentucky — a spirit layered with infinite notes, bound by its barrel and pursued by its own passionate community. The first time I took apart an American whiskey barrel, I experienced another flawless moment. 

The sweet aroma of whiskey-soaked, charred white oak. 

The curvature of the barrel staves. 

The rich patina earned through years of aging its gift. 

When that barrel came apart and the staves and heads lay side by side, something clicked. 

A seed was planted. 

The natural curve of the reclaimed barrel staves mirrored the elegant arc of a fish in motion. The history in the wood — the char, the grain, the whiskey touch — demanded a second life.

What began as a fever-dream idea during illness became a vision — one fueled by healing and encouraged by my circle of family and friends. 

We began transforming authentic reclaimed whiskey barrel staves into handcrafted wooden fish — rustic, soulful pieces of wall art that carry the spirit of both water (waters of life) and whiskey.
