The Whiskey Fish Tavern was created by 5 friends and entrepreneurs who have held a long time dream of bringing a new yet old fashioned twist to drinking and dining in the historic fishing village of Murrells Inlet, SC. Bringing elements of this area’s rich history into their restaurant was at the heart of this group. The team of owners were able to place pieces of South Carolina’s past into the interior of their tavern with almost 300 year old wood graciously given by a historical landmark in nearby Georgetown County. The wood that now adorns the walls and upstairs bar of The Whiskey Fish originated from the now privately owned estate of the Windsor Plantation, circa 1758, along the Black River in Georgetown, South Carolina. Thirsty patrons & customers looking for a unique experience in the Grand Strand can now dine or drink their whiskey while enjoying the cypress and pine wood preserved from the 18thcentury.
